What’s the Best Gift You’ve Ever Given or Received?

By: Jacinta O’Halloran (View Profile)

As I pulled the slender box from under the tree, my mind raced with possibilities. Ripping the paper away, I found a small box of coloring pencils. “Huh?” The attached note read “you fill my life with color, now go fill yours,” and it included a certificate to a local art class, something I’d been feeling too busy to sign up for myself. I burst into tears. What’s your gift giving—or receiving—high point?

The giveaway ended Dec 17th, but you can still add your story to this chit chat. Look for more giveaways soon and stand by for an announcement about our winner.

The best gift I ever received was on my anniversary / 30th B-Day. My hubby and best friends threw me the most amazing surprise party, and every single one of my friends were there, even the ones from out of town that I haven't seen in ages. It was a blast!

The best gift I received was a total surprise - unasked and unexpected. A lovely diamond tennis bracelet my husband gave me as 1999 turned into 2000. I'd been feeling unappreciated at that point, so it gave me a huge change in my thinking.

I've received many nice gifts over the years, but the best one is the gift of life that my mom gave to me after 6 hrs. of hard labor. how can there possibly be a better gift than this?

The best gift I ever received for Christmas was an engagement ring. It was my happiest holiday ever. I was so proud to show it off to my family. Sadly the marraige didn't last but the ring is still beautiful!

My best gift I could have ever received was my wonderful husband of 34 years. We were married on Dec. 21, 1973. What a wonderful Christmas gift! Every Christmas has been more wonderful than the past. He has been a gift to treasure and hang on to, which I plan to do for hopefully for many years to come.
