What’s the Best Gift You’ve Ever Given or Received?

By: Jacinta O’Halloran (View Profile)

As I pulled the slender box from under the tree, my mind raced with possibilities. Ripping the paper away, I found a small box of coloring pencils. “Huh?” The attached note read “you fill my life with color, now go fill yours,” and it included a certificate to a local art class, something I’d been feeling too busy to sign up for myself. I burst into tears. What’s your gift giving—or receiving—high point?

The giveaway ended Dec 17th, but you can still add your story to this chit chat. Look for more giveaways soon and stand by for an announcement about our winner.

What a wonderful and thoughtful gift you received! :) My receiving high point was when my husband found my wedding ring. I have a wrap set and one part was missing. We searched high and low until one day after a month he found it in the very bottom of the couch!

The best gift I ever received was a scrapbook from my mother last year. It was adorable! Lots of colorful papers and embellishments. But the best part was, she had been saving newspaper clippings, photos, and school assignments of mine from my entire childhood. That, in itself, is a gift to open. It really made me smile!

Getting over the loss of my father on Christmas day was the hardest thing I have ever done, but I was given the strength to get over it and enjoy the Holidays. The gift of strength is my finest gift.

My mother passed away this year in March. In April a box was delivered to my door.My mom bought Christmas ornaments ,they are so beautiful, each ornament is a music box and when you open it there is also a moving scene, one has a train that circles around ,another with ballet dancers .I guess mom wanted us to have a gift for this Christmas.I shared them with my brothers and thier wives.Of course Christmas was her favorite holiday too.

What I loved most was finding a lost kitten and being allowed to keep it as a forever pet.
