Take Care

By: Momma Omalley (View Profile)

Lately, my husband has been working an awful lot. We have barely seen each other more than ten minutes at a clip per day. Usually when he is home at a normal hour it’s because I'm going to work and he needs to watch the baby girls.

Well, as I said my good byes I turned to my husband and said, “Bye baby, I love you … ” He turned to me and said, and I do quote, “TAKE CARE” yes, he did. Take care? I said. Are we really at that point of communication that its come down to a mere take care? He proclaimed he was tired but come on … am I right for being upset with that or am I overreacting?

We hugged it out and I am no longer saddened by his comment. But every now and again especially on the phone you bet I tell him to take care!

Delightful. He was distracted and gave an automatic response? I may have been guilty of that one myself on occasion. I absolutely love the "we hugged it out" - would you let us know what that looks like in your house ?- So many of my clients and readers have difficulty expressing distress and getting through it to the "hug" - I have a set of Tools to express yourself and get closer to your man in the process, and it sounds like you have your own shortcut. Most of us, after an upset - try to rush to the "hug" without working things through. would love to hear how you do that...Rori
