Show Us Your Tits!

A first baby is a leap into the unknown for new parents and you will have to learn to adapt to the baby’s moods and rhythms with nursing as with everything else. Don’t get caught up weighing the baby all the time or worrying if she spits up a lot. See your pediatrician for your regular visits and otherwise, just try to get comfortable nursing. If you are having trouble, if it hurts a lot, or the baby never seems satisfied, try to find a lactation consultant in your area or ask your OB or pediatrician for a recommendation. Breastfeeding support groups such as the La Leche League can be wonderful places to bond with other new moms and to ask questions from trivial to terrifying about nursing and caring for a newborn.

Motherhood presents you with so many opportunities for losing your dignity in public. Showing your breasts to random strangers in the grocery store parking lot will soon seem like no big deal—but it may still feel really, really cold!

Ahh, a topic on which everyone has an opinion and honest dialague is always welcome. I have very few friends who have reported that breast feeding came easy at first. This article gives a balance view of the difficulty in the beginning and the pay offs in the end, not just nutrition, but convenience.
It feels good to write.
