I am married with three children. A divorced, good-looking coworker who I am also good friends with recently told me about a dream he had with me in it. We have always had a connection since the day we met and sometimes, when it starts feeling too comfortable, I pull away for awhile because I love my husband and don’t ever want to jeopardize that. My friend probably doesn’t even notice that I pull away—we have such busy jobs and have to actually make time to have private conversations.
In his dream, we were at some gathering—his son and my son were there. The kids were just normal, running around playing. His parents were there along with the two of us. But the four of us were all naked. He said he was embarrassed—he didn’t want me to meet his parents like that. He also said he kept his eyes above my neck and didn’t look down. There was also a hot tub ... but that was just kind of in the background.
I kinda laughed it off with him, but I couldn’t believe he told me the dream and we agreed not to tell my husband since he has met my husband a time or too and they will probably be at the same functions for possibly years. He went on to tell me he sleeps in the nude and often runs around his house like that ... I laughed it off and have since pulled away from him for awhile, and we are both on vacation now so he probably never even noticed it.
First of all—what does his dream mean? And do we need to talk this out, set some boundaries, and possibly re-think our friendship? Or am I just making a big deal out of nothing? Thanks for the advice!
