What Memories Do You Have from Your First Concert?

By: Caitlin Goebel (View Profile)

Let’s take it back to the fifth grade. It’s my best friend’s birthday. The night started out with all of us going over to her house. We did each others make-up, picked out the “perfect” outfits and practiced the lyrics over and over again until we had them memorized. As we walked through the doors of the Rose Garden Arena we felt ten times older than we were. All five of us including her mom stood up a little taller than normal. We took our seats and then the music started “Ohhhhh … I’m just a girl …” the crowd went crazy. The lights, the sound, the audience, lit up and didn’t stop for two hours. We felt like we were on top of the world and all grown up.

Everyone has vivid memories about the first concert they’ve ever gone to. Whether it was Michael Jackson, Eddie Money, or Poison, chime in to tell us the first concert you went to.

The giveaway ended June 27th, but you can still add your story to this chit chat. Look for more giveaways and stand by for an announcement about our winner.

My first was Tina Turner's concert, ages ago, when I was 13 :) I went with my parents and 3 friends. We had a great time. So much happened to all of us in the meantime, that when I think of it, it seems that the whole memory belongs to another life.
Thanks for the giveaway!

My first concert was not too long ago. It was a Tori Amos concert in 2001. It was fantastic.

My first concert was Styx at the now defunct "Amphitheater" in Chicago IL. It was the summer after I graduated highschool. My buddy Tom bought tickets for us, and we drove up there with some friends. I remember going to the ladies room when "Renegade" started....(one of my favorite songs) and the cops came swarming into the ladies room, because there was a girl there OD'ing.....it was all so surreal. We took his car, but I ended up driving home cause everyone was so drunk....(yes, I was stupid and underage!) I drove around lost for about an hour cause everyone was asleep......then I saw a sign that said "Cabrini Green!!!!) OMG!!! It's now torn down but it used to be THE WORST projects in Chicago...gang shooting, etc...EVERYDAY. Hows that for a first time.....?? I woke Tom up and told him to get us the heck outta there before they shot us......we were waaaaaaaaaaay out of our element....some hokey country-bumpkins from Indiana....roflmao

I went to my first concert in my early 40's! it was the moody blues with the haddonfield symphony backing them up. My date (and now hubby) were in the second row and we could count the buttons on the brits shirt.........it was an awesome event!

It was my first experience at a live concert and my first kiss. I went a No Doubt concert when I was in high school. It was on the weekend of course but I meet a really cute girl there and we hit it off. I ended up staying overnight at a motel to spend some more time with her. But in the end, the distance wasn't working out because I lived in LA. I still talk to her from time to time-all I can say is she's a wonderful person, who is beautiful inside and out.
