What Memories Do You Have from Your First Concert?

By: Caitlin Goebel (View Profile)

Let’s take it back to the fifth grade. It’s my best friend’s birthday. The night started out with all of us going over to her house. We did each others make-up, picked out the “perfect” outfits and practiced the lyrics over and over again until we had them memorized. As we walked through the doors of the Rose Garden Arena we felt ten times older than we were. All five of us including her mom stood up a little taller than normal. We took our seats and then the music started “Ohhhhh … I’m just a girl …” the crowd went crazy. The lights, the sound, the audience, lit up and didn’t stop for two hours. We felt like we were on top of the world and all grown up.

Everyone has vivid memories about the first concert they’ve ever gone to. Whether it was Michael Jackson, Eddie Money, or Poison, chime in to tell us the first concert you went to.

It was not my first concert but the most memorable My husband and I had been going thru some rough times and it was kind of a date. It was spectular, not so much the music but the making up and still being together for almost 47 years. Thanks for the contest

Mine was ZZ Topp. I was never permitted to go as a teen, so my first concert was as an adult. I took off from work to stand in line for tickets and got floor seats for myself and my husband.

Just to show how old I am, the first concert I remember going to was one given by Robert Goulet. Much more civilized than what I see and/or hear about many of the more current performers!

My parents took me to see Sonny and Cher for my ninth birthday--I watched their show every week so I was so excited.

It was the Pointer Sisters back in the day. It was girls' night out and we had a picnic on the lawn of the outdoor venue. Great fun!

My first concert was in (gulp) 1975 in NYC to see a band called Led Zep. I had no idea who he was. lol But my best friends Steve and Danny did and had 3rd row seats.
I threw away the bay city rollers albums and got into REAL Rock!

My first concert was BonJovi and it was amazing. The crowd was huge and there were catwalks going out over the audience. There was a spectacular light show and Jon Bonjovi sang and walked out over the crowd. The music was so loud and full of energy. It was an amazing concert I will never forget.
