What Memories Do You Have from Your First Concert?

By: Caitlin Goebel (View Profile)

Let’s take it back to the fifth grade. It’s my best friend’s birthday. The night started out with all of us going over to her house. We did each others make-up, picked out the “perfect” outfits and practiced the lyrics over and over again until we had them memorized. As we walked through the doors of the Rose Garden Arena we felt ten times older than we were. All five of us including her mom stood up a little taller than normal. We took our seats and then the music started “Ohhhhh … I’m just a girl …” the crowd went crazy. The lights, the sound, the audience, lit up and didn’t stop for two hours. We felt like we were on top of the world and all grown up.

Everyone has vivid memories about the first concert they’ve ever gone to. Whether it was Michael Jackson, Eddie Money, or Poison, chime in to tell us the first concert you went to.

My first concert was Carly Simon and my grandfather took me for my birthday when I was no more than 12, it was so cool cause she played in Saratoga NY and sang "Youre So Vain" for the first time ever there that night.

My first real concert was with my best bud in HS. We went to see Winger at the state fair. We ended up getting gas at the same gas station as their tour bus after the concert, but neither one of us had the guts to talk to them!

The first real concern was to see Elvis Presley in Oklahoma City in 1971. Unfortunately, by that time he had put on a bit of weight and spent most of the concert singing to his band with his back to the audience. I did not care, it was Elvis and he could do no wrong!
I loved my first concert, I was about 14 years old and I believe my first concert was melanie and Tom Rush, I felt like such an adult. we took the train in to Cambridge, went to the show and then took the train back home again all by ourselves

I was 14 and my parents let me go to Denver from pueblo by Greyhound to see Ozzy. My cousin who was like 24 bought me my ticket. That was the first time my parents let me go anywhere out of town. Ozzy's concert was No more Tours Tour. I remember looking at the drummer Randy and thinking he was the finest dude i ever say with long hair. He he he.... I am 30 now and my hubby has long hair! :)

Believe it or not my first concert was New Kids On The Block. And yes I did scream and cry over them, but I was only 13 so cut me some slack!
