First and foremost I admire the women closest to me. That would include my mother and my sisters. But I also Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Hilary Rodham Clinton and Gov Sarah Palin, whether I agree with their beliefs and tactics or not. Their strength and courage is inspiring.

The mothers of the world! Unsung heroes of the common mass. Who say little but do much. I applaud you.

Hello ladies, I have to first agree with Stef, my mothers, I was blessed by God for the two women in my life that raised me! Both my mother and step-mother played important roles in my life, if it weren't for my father choices in the women that he married, I could only pray that God would have still put them in my life as a teacher, co-worker,best friend! And because of them would bring me to agreeing with Lady J, my mother did the best she could with what she had as a single mother of three, she showed us love and affection no matter how tuff times seem to be, she never let us see her cry, even though she had every right too, my step-mother just went though a bout with lung cancer, causing her to lose 1/2 a lung, she too had every right to cry, and yet she never let us see that side of her, I can only pray that I can be as strong as the hero's in my life as I go though life on life's terms.

Hi my name is joanne god bless and how are you today.
I'm sorry but I don't have a single name of a woman that I admire and inspire but I WOULD LIKE TO ACKNOWLEDGE A GROUP OF WOMEN THAT I ADMIRE. I am deeply inspired by women WHO NEVER GIVE UP! If you are a woman who takes life by the horns and don't throw in the towel because of set-backs in life...(loss of a job, spouse walking out on you, terminal illness, etc.)...YOU ARE MY HEROES! And women like that makes life worth fighting for. HATS OFF TO WOMEN LIKE YOU!

I am particularly inspired by women who are in the "sandwich" time of their life...raising children, supporting her husband, and caring for her quickly aging parents. It seems as if these women have no time or energy to take care of themselves. I'm always amazed at how my mother can smile throughout it all without ever complaining.

My mother inspires me. My dad passed away unexpectedly six years back, and since then, she has learned to become a single mother without ever planning to be. Never in my mother's mind- nor in my mind, for that matter- did she think that single parenting would be something she would have to do. But as life did what it does to all, something else was given to us...a life that we would learn to live. I must say, though, that these past six years have been some of the best years of my life because the relationship I share with my mom is stronger than it has ever been. Her ability to stay strong, especially when I moved to college just a few years ago, and transition to a life where she would be alone continues to astound me. I never question her perseverance, her strength, or her faith. She is truly one of the most inspiring, if the only, women I have ever known.
