Allow Yourself to Shine

Deepak Chopra says, “You alone are the judge of your worth; and your goal is to discover infinite worth in yourself, no matter what anyone else thinks. There is great freedom in this realization.”

Focusing your energy on your perception of what others might think of you blocks your ability to embrace and truly love yourself. If you are not tapped into your authentic self you limit your ability to be successful and thrive.

Take a look at the successful people around you. What’s their secret? How did they achieve personal and professional success? They did so by controlling their thoughts, beliefs, and actions. These successful people understand the connection between their thoughts and the outcome in their life. They realize that their thoughts form their beliefs and their beliefs dictate their habits.

In order to allow your own self to shine, you need to listen to our own voice, think for yourself, question the world around you, and determine your own value. Allowing others to influence the way you feel about yourself devalues your self-worth. You give a part of your unique self away out of fear.

But, as you reclaim all the pieces of you, you strengthen your connection with yourself and the world. You begin to live with purpose and clarity. Your beauty shines brightly for those around you to see. In living this way, you become a beacon of beauty instead of a follower of others beliefs. But it’s up to you. Which type of person would you rather be? What type of life would you rather lead? The choice is yours.

There will always be people in our life who cause us to raise doubt about our sense of self, but no one has the power to influence the way we feel about ourselves unless we give them that power. I encourage you to hold onto your own power. Examine your strengths every day. Do those things in life that make you feel good.

Every time you practice allowing yourself to feel good, you become a little stronger, a little more courageous and a lot more beautiful.

Thank you! This is fantastic advice, and no matter how many times we've all heard it, it helps to hear it again. Especially great advice for women; we often forget to listen to ourselves and think too much about what others say.
It feels good to write.

Your stories, musings, and advice are welcome here. We know you've got something to share, so jump in—maybe get a little famous. And don't worry—you can save a draft!
