I like to think I’m a rational person. A person who considers things carefully and tries to look at the facts as they are, not as I want them to be. Someone who believes in reason. So can anyone explain to me why I read my newspaper’s daily horoscope faithfully?
I do (sort of) believe in what the signs of the Zodiac tell me in a general way about personality types in the same way I do any other system that provides useful information about different psychological types. It’s pretty clear to me that I fit the description of a Sagittarius to a “T” and no one would ever mistake me for a Taurus. But that’s about as far as I go with that.
But, I don’t believe in the daily horoscopes and certainly not those in the newspaper for heaven’s sake. Nonetheless, I read mine every day, how inconsistent of me is that? I figure it’s those occasional days where the silly thing hits a nail so square on the head that keeps me coming back for more. Obviously, you don’t have to believe they are divine revelation to get food for thought from them.
This morning mine gave me a reminder that was pretty handy. Here is what it said:
“As with Scorpio, detachment seems counterintuitive to getting what you want. How can the key to getting what you want be not caring whether you get it? Hold your intention and desire, but let the outcome be what it will.”
See, this is one of those days where my personal circumstances needed that reminder badly. And it so happens this Zennish concept is one I struggle with often. How do you care enough to manifest something, and yet be detached enough to not care if it doesn’t? This little Grasshoppah has puzzled over this one.

I think horoscopes are interesting to check every now and then. But it really isn't right every time. And I even took up Tarot Cards, I wanted to know exactly what to be aware or ready for. I was so good at reading that I started doing it for friends. Then one day I noticed I wasn't surprised with my daily life and all of the wonderful things that happen in our lives. I was almost waiting for "IT" to happen that I didn't react normally and was almost cheated out of the surprises and events and interacting with others. Couldn't really share what I knew and I gave it all up and just want to live and feel the reaction. Once in awhile I'll also read my horoscope, but then I remember, it's actually up to me , how my life will be and live in the instinct stage of life. I can count on instincts much better.
i used to be a horoscope reader for years. i could still remember the first time i read mine, i was kinda surprised because some of things that were being said fitted the type of traits and personality i have, until i get addicted of reading it. i felt a sense of pride each time i read something good but as time passes by i get bored of reading it and came to realized that nobody knows what's gonna happen tomorrow except HIM...above.
I have been a professional astrologer for 39 years.. (moonlaidie.com) and have adapted to every change and nuance that time and tilt have produced - and continue to connect with individuals who want to know what "this stuff means to me". It is one of a reservoir of tools that can be helpful for anyone seeking to understand him/herself better especially if they are reflecting on the map of their own individual nativity - and not generic forecasts. And people read their daily horoscope because we are generally hopeful, by nature.
I'm curious how many people would still read their horoscope if they found out the signs assigned to their birthdate weren't actually the ones they were "born" under. That is right, the signs and dates being used today correspond to the signs and dates being used in ancient Greece, and since constellations and stars that we view in the night sky move over time, you could not have possibly been born under the constellation your horoscope claims you were born under.
I do not read my horoscope. I get e mail letters from many real Astrologers for FREE that are Using my birth date and time of birth. As of today, transiting Pluto is retrograde in Sagittarius until Nov 4th. Which will soon leave my 5th house. And transiting Saturn and Uranus are creating a tight opposition. Which is my 2nd/8th house, and it shows in my empty bank account. So drop that News Paper and get a real Astrologers opinion:) I heart Robert Hand LOL
