Brown Sugar and Brie Toasts

By: Brie Cadman (View Profile)

A friend of mine passed this recipe along to me, and I, in turn, have passed it along to many others. Simple in preparation and savory sweet in flavor, it is the perfect appetizer to serve while you’re running around the kitchen getting dinner ready.

Ingredients

One sweet baguette, sliced

One triangle of triple cream Brie cheese

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup walnut halves

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 °F.

2. Place slices of baguette on lightly greased baking sheet and cook in oven until lightly toasted. Remove from oven.

3. Slice cheese into small pieces and spread on baguette slices. Top with one teaspoon of brown sugar, followed by one walnut half.

4. Place in oven until brown sugar is melted and bubbly, five to ten minutes. Serve warm.
