This recipe hails from the hills of Elwood City and my husband’s home when Grandma made Party Time on Saturday nights in the 1950s and 1960s. It is cheap, quick, and easy but everyone asks for it and I have to make it times six when I have parties! The bowl is always scraped clean.
Party Time Dip
1 bar Cream Cheese (I use Low Fat—not no fat)
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
2–3 fresh green onions chopped
Baked Lays (regular and bar-b-que)
Pretzel sticks
Directions:
Mash with a fork until creamy. You could use a blender and I have done so when I make larger batches. If it doesn’t seem smooth, add a little more milk to make it smooth.
If it is a little runny you can always add more cream cheese or put back into the refrigerator. Enjoy! We love our party-time dip.
