As we built the foundation for DivineCaroline, we asked all kinds of questions and reached out to these notable women to help us find the best answers. We thank each one of them for their unvarnished responses, their encouraging words and their continuing support.
Rebecca Brown
Editorial Director; Executive Editor Relationships, Body & Soul
Rebecca Brown is a writer, a commercial and movie-quoting junkie, a spelling bee champion, a pop culture addict, a salsa and burrito connoisseur, and inventor of the question mark. After thirteen years of defining target audiences and observing focus groups, she left to become an advertising copywriter. Feeling confined by taglines and large logos, she left for the brighter skies of DivineCaroline. She enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, biking, tall men, dogs, cardio tai boxing, and the occasional downward dog. She is currently dating George Clooney, Cillian Murphy, and Clive Owen. She lives in the greatest city in the world (San Francisco).
Jacinta O'Halloran
Travel, Style Editor
Irish native Jacinta O'Halloran wakes up to the Rocky theme song; she runs to Queen; she cleans to Eminem; she rocks
to U2; and she writes to traditional Irish music. Upon winning the Irish "green-card lottery," Jacinta left
her journalism prospects in Dublin for the brighter lights of New York City. She has since worked for an historic preservationist;
written, edited, and developed titles for an illustrated-book packager; and traveled and told of many fab far-offs for Fodor's
Travel Guides. Jacinta is sometimes an off-the-beaten-path traveler, sometimes a souvenir-toting tourist, and always passionate
about sharing her real experiences (be they missed flights or disco-dancing nights). She loves to shop and hates the words "pear-shaped." Jacinta will share a good pint of Guinness if you share what's in your shopping bag ...
Vicki Santillano
Editorial Assistant
Vicki graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Literature degree and a burning desire to find a job that she didn't hate (two years as an ice cream scooper can do that to a person). After backpacking through Europe and avoiding adulthood, she moved to San Francisco to achieve that goal and now finds herself happily immersed in writing and editing—two of her biggest passions—at DivineCaroline. Outside of the office, she enjoys reading, writing, cooking, dancing, shopping, exploring San Francisco, traveling, and finding the perfect burrito. Other big goals in life include seeing more of the world, figuring out the million neighborhoods in San Francisco, finding the perfect pair of jeans, and meeting Conan O'Brien (not necessarily in that order).
Natalie Josef
Managing Editor
A native of Virginia, Natalie Josef is a writer, a former rock star, an animal lover, a photographer, and a graphic designer.
She has a BA in English from James Madison University and an MA in Women's Studies from the University of Arizona. Her writing
has been published in academic journals, pop culture magazines, and numerous Web sites. A double Capricorn and grammar freak,
she cannot stomach spelling errors, inappropriate uses of your and you're, and improper punctuation. Her likes include biking,
watching cartoons, cool socks, chocolate milk, the Pittsburgh Steelers, tattoos, and her iPod. Her dislikes include people
driving with cell phones, social injustice, airplanes, and balloons. She has visited forty-two U.S. states, and is ridiculously
happy living in San Francisco.
Brie Cadman

Ever since kissing a banana slug in sixth grade, dissecting a fetal pig in high school, and kicking pre-med butt in organic
chemistry, Brie Cadman has really liked science. She was born and raised in the Napa Valley, where anaerobic respiration
produces ethanol on a regular basis. She earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from UC Berkeley, but never did figure
out how to synthesize anything worthwhile. So she left the lab in search of adventure in Asia. After experiencing the highs
of the Annapurna's and the lows of Giardia, she returned to pursue her Master's in Public Health at UC Berkeley. When she is
not giving the finger to big tobacco, she can be found running the hills, snowboarding the mountains, biking in skirts, and
sipping Zinfandel at family-owned Tulocay Winery.
Jennifer Hastings
Partner Coordinator
Jennifer is a graduate from San Francisco State University where she earned her degree in the humanities. The humanities were a
broad enough degree to satisfy the diverse interests of this curious girl. A year abroad in the south of France, a winter break in
Japan, and a summer in London all have fed Jennifer's obsession with travel and the perspective gained from every trip. She loves
the dynamism of San Francisco and how unpredictable and marvelous its day and nightlife is. She is thrilled to be working amongst
the "divine" writers, editors, and staff of DivineCaroline.
