Practically the best facial I’ve ever had was provided by BellaPelle Skin Studio in San Francisco…http://www.bellapelle.com/
I entered this bright salon assuming it would have the same arrogance as other Maiden Lane tenants, so I was surprised to find that the employees were warm and welcoming, and the waiting area offered dozens of magazines, chocolates and cheese and crackers. The “Specialty Facial” process was typical—cleansing, skin analysis, steam and exfoliation, extraction, purification, replenishment with serums and massage, and mask. But the products were not so typical. Each smelled so delicious that it made me want to lick it off my upper lip area. Some of the BellePelle products used during the facial included the Urban Rainforest Mist (toner that made me feel refreshed), Chiara Peel (a gentle exfoliant), a replenishing Urban Rainforest Serum, Nourish Serum (it felt firming but not too tight), i Soothe (eye treatment with peptides for plumping), and Plush Cream moisturizer. By far the most effective but strange-sounding product was the CryoCell DNA treatment made of amniotic fluid cells from a cow. The specialist, Leslie, said to think of it as “creating a layer of protein for the skin.” Towards the end of the facial, not only did Leslie massage my neck and shoulders, she also trimmed my eyebrows, which were long overdue since my last modeling photo shoot in 2006. I’m glad to report that even now, three days later, my skin is still glowing and firm.
