Are you a businesswoman who wants to make a difference in someone's life by supporting exceptional female leaders lacking financial resources?

On October 11th in Atlanta, The Georgia Executive Women's Network is having its 10th Annual Scholarship Luncheon to honor four bright women who are the 2007 recipients. Scholarships are awarded each year to non-traditional female students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and academic ability and who are attending metro Atlanta colleges and universities as an undergraduate after a gap in their college education.

There will also be an insightful presentation with the theme of "Overcoming the Odds." A panel of Delta Air Line's executive women, including Pam Elledge, SVP-Global Sales & Distribution; MaryAnn Green, VP Delta Technology, Airline Operations; and Keyra Lynn Johnson, Director, Internal Communication, will share their perspective on the human success factors in leading the company out of Chapter 11.

When: Thursday, October 11
Where: Atlanta Fish Market, 265 Pharr Road
Time: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Cost: $50.00 (which includes a donation to the Scholarship fund)

Fantastic idea! I think there should be more programs like that nationwide. I'm not in a position to contribute now, but look forward to helping in the future. Shannon Davis Beyondmothehrood.com ....a job board for women who want more than the title "mom".
Are You a Cheap Tipper?

Yes, we all know 15 percent is expected at restaurants, but what about the hair salon? The taxi? The guy who shampoos your hair? How do you know what’s appropriate in those tipping grey areas? Enlighten us here. >>
