Brand:Neat Receipts
Product:Business Card Scanners

Last week I ordered a Neat Receipts business card scanner. Their advertising made it sound like exactly what I needed plus PC Magazine rated it highly. I ordered it online. The installation did not work on my Sony Vaio desktop computer so I phoned them for assistance. An hour and a half later they had deleted my Sony Video Sharey Libray files via remote control from my system and determined that the Neat Receipts business card scanner could not work on a Sony Vaio. The technician even said to me, after doing this to my registry, that their had been another customer with a Sony Vaio and the same thing occurred.

I did not know then that what they had done would mean I could no longer use my regular scanner but I found out quickly. I restored my system to a day before that happened and my files were brought back to my computer.

Then, I went ahead and looked at CardScan online. I phoned them and spoke to their technical department to see if they had ever had problems with a Sony Vaio computer and they had not. I purchased one at a local office store. This business card scanner was alot more expensive than the first one. But the CardScan worked immediately. I created an accurate database of close to 100 business cards in a very short time. Why hadn't I bought one of these when they were first introduced? What a fabulous piece of equipment. It scans in the business card so you can see the image but it puts the information into a form that looks like a roladex that you can export to your Outlook and to your handheld. As Martha would say, that's a good thing.
